Frequently Asked Questions
Is there any quality loss when trimming?
Because the browser re-encodes the selected segment, there may be some quality reduction β particularly for highly compressed source files. For lossless cuts, use a desktop tool like DaVinci Resolve or FFmpeg with stream copy.
Can I trim multiple segments from one video?
Currently this tool extracts one continuous clip per trim operation. Run the tool multiple times to extract different segments from the same source video.
What's the maximum video length I can trim?
There's no hard limit β the practical ceiling is your device's available RAM. Longer videos (over 1 hour) may take more time to process in the browser.
Will audio be included in the output?
Yes, by default the trimmed clip includes the original audio. Check the "Mute output" option to produce a video-only file.
Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is the trim?
The trim is frame-accurate. Use the scrubber to navigate to the exact start and end frames, then set your in and out points. The preview shows your selected range before you download.
What format is the output?
Output is WebM or MP4 depending on your selection. WebM is recommended for web use. MP4 is better for general compatibility.
Will trimming reduce video quality?
Trimming re-encodes the video, which involves some minor quality loss. For best results, use the highest quality source file available. The quality level can be adjusted in the settings.
Are my video files uploaded to a server?
No. All trimming happens in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
Can I trim very large video files?
Large files (over 500MB) may be slow or exceed browser memory limits. For large files, a desktop tool like DaVinci Resolve (free) or iMovie is more reliable.
